Can't Walk Away From Friday

Bella always knew she loved her best friend, but it isn't until she finds out he's engaged that she remembers just how much. How far will she go to make him see he's marrying the wrong woman? A story about finding your heart and losing your head.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who squeed like a fangirl when I found out that Kharizzmatik was back and writing again. After taking a short break after finishing her epic work of art EP, she's started her newest endevor "Pinky Swear".

The premise of this story is loosely basest off the the 1997 romantic comedy "My Best Friends Wedding" staring Julia Robert. Make no mistakes ,Kharizzmatik has made this story completely her own. Going as far as to add in little glimpses of Bella and Edwards past together. I loved peaking into their past and seeing how strong their friendship was and the stuff they have been through together.
Bella Swan has made it a long way since she left Forks all those years ago. She is now a successful food critic for a Seattle newspaper. Life is going good for Bella until one day she gets a text from her best friend Edward. She finds out that he is back home for a visit and to get married. Instead of feeling happy for friend she feels something different. Bella's flamboyant friend Jake points out to her that the feeling is jealousy because she is in love with Edward. Of course Bella waves off that silly idea, but then she stops and thinks about it. She realizes Jake is right. She has been in love with her best friend all these years. So, Bella high tails it back to Forks to stop the wedding and tell Edward she's in love with him. Unfortunately her plans are derailed when she meets his fiancee Tanya. She's beautiful, and bubbly and everything Bella is not.

I plastered a smile on my face as Tanya continued to talk, refusing to react even as he leaned down to kiss her. She said she was going back inside and hugged me again before bouncing toward the Cullen's house. Her shiny lip gloss had smudged and left a trail of stickiness on Edward's bottom lip. I watched as his tongue darted out, brushing across it slowly. He was tasting it... tasting her. I wanted to puke again.

Ready to give up and go home Jake shows up to give Bella a push in the right direction, oh yeah and to pose as her boyfriend to make Edward jealous. The story is written from Bella's POV so we are unsure what Edward is thinking or feeling. When Bella first arrives home Edward appears to be happy and in love, but over time he seems to start to show us that looks can be deceiving. Could it possible be???? Could Edward possibly not be happy? Does Bella actually have a chance to put a stop to this wedding before she loses Edward forever?

He sighed loudly. "I think you're wrong about her." "You think I'm wrong?" I asked. "What, you don't know I'm wrong? Does that mean you have doubt?" He didn't answer, but his expression was all the confirmation I needed. "So, what, Swan? You think I'm making a mistake? Is that what you're saying?" Yes. "Maybe."

This story is a must a read for all you romantics out there. It funny and sweet. Sometimes I feel bad for Bella when things don't go her way, but it's safe to there is no angst ( so far).  So take a peak at Kharizzmatiks  "Pinky Swear" it won't disappoint.  This is WIP and updates weekly. Read it! Review it! You'll Love it!!

Can't Walk Away from Friday

This week on "Can't Walk Away Friday" I'm doing things a little different. I usually rec and review one story that has captured by attention. This weeks however it I am going to rec many.

Recently a new wave of drabble fic's has hit fan fiction. These little ditties are usually less than 500 words per a chapter, and you receive an update everyday. In the end you end up with a large numbers of chapters and a fic that is in most cases under 20,000 words. That's the equivalent of a one shot, but I find that this is much more fun. I read updates when I'm in between things at home. I run and load up an update. It takes 2 or 3 minutes to read and then I get back to work.  I still love my large multi chapter fic's, but is a fun change of pace. The truly amazing thing about drabbles that I have noticed is the number of reviews. Most garnering more than 1500 reviews. Born on Halloweens fic" Once Upon a Desire" is at 6621 reviews for just under 20,000 words. CaraNo's drabble "The All Nighters" 44,867 words has brought her 11,369 reviews. The most amazing of all would be" The Plan" by QuantumFizzx. This fic is 74 chapters and 49,262 words and has acquired an unbelievable 18,375 reviews. I'm sure these brilliant, accomplished writers would say it's not the reviews that count, but as you can see it speaks volumes to their writing abilities and the draw to this new form of writing fic's.

Can't Walk Away From Friday

Professional animator Edward worships cartoon exec Bella from afar by day and draws her in his comic book late at night. When this Daffy Duck-loving geek comes face to face with his dream girl, will his fantasy world come to life.

No: 18 Chapters posted

Edward Cullen is a 26 years cartoon animator. During the day he works for Animation Nation drawing for the cartoon "Bernie and the Beaver Patrol". At night he works on his own Comic book "B Girl"....

With each stroke of the pencil my dream girl comes to life, her heart-shaped face graced with huge brown eyes and plump bow lips.

....a creative outlet for the secret obsession for his coworker and company executive Bella Swan. But, Bella is  off limits, she's dating Animation Nation  company President Aro Volturi.
One day while filling in for a friend at Geek World Edward finally gets the opportunity he's been waiting for. Bella comes in looking for a wire for her computer and Edward is there to lend a hand and his computer expertise.
Over the next few weeks Edward starts bringing her coffee every afternoon. Slowly they form a friendship . Edward see's that Bella is a strong, bold, sassy business woman, but Aro has a way about making her feel bad about herself. Edward ever the gentleman, is always there to assure her about how perfect she is. Determined to win her heart by showing how good he would be to her.
Bella mistakenly assumes that Edward is in love with his co worker, Allie . Stupidly he doesn't correct her assumption. Edward expresses how inexperienced with women he is, and Bella graciously offers her experience to help Edward with Allie.

"I want you to help me, and teach me. The times you kissed and touched me made me feel so…amazing."
"Oh, Edward." She smiles sweetly at me. "Promise me though, that you'll tell me when I make you uncomfortable."

This story is written in EPOV , but Abstract Way writes Bella so you can sense that she starting to have feeling's for Edward.

"Why are you so good to me, Bella?" I sigh happily.
"Haven't you figured that out yet?" she replies sweetly.

Wow Cluelessward when will you figure out that she's in love with you too?
Aro senses something going on between Bella and Edward and whisks Bella away for a few days. When she returns, she starts backing away from her friendship with Edward.

"Well, the time away gave me time to think about things."
"Things?" I ask nervously. This isn't going well.
"Yeah, and I think it may be a good idea not to do the coffee visits anymore, so I thought I should drop by and tell you before you go." She looks down. It was one thing to hear this from Aro, something completely else with Bella. She must know how much this will hurt me.

What does Aro have over Bella? When will Edward come clean and tell Bella that he loves her? When will Bella quit denying her feeling for Edward? Time will tell with this WIP. Run....and get your Geek on. Read Animate Me! Don't forget to leave Abstract Way a review.

Can't Walk Away from Friday

Edward's the single father to an amazing little girl... with a hearing disability. "Imagine my surprise when she crouched down to Emma's level... and began signing with hands.

Unable to rise to the challenge of raising a child with a hearing disability little Emma Cullen mother abandoned her. At the age of 24 Edward Cullen found himself alone raising a precious little girl alone.
Edward is overly protective of little Emma and very guarded of his own heart. People treat her differently because of her disability.

I tried dating a few times, but it always ended in disaster. It was when I brought someone home with me to introduce her to Emma that everything went to hell. The date or girlfriend or whatever would start walking on eggshells around Emma, and simply shy away – no matter how many times I told them to just relax, because my girl is not only smart, but she's also easy going, and you don't need sign language to convey simple things. But yes, they shied away, which in turn made my girl believe people didn't like her.

Bella Swan is a 20 year old dance student. She was raised by a mother with a hearing disability, so she learned sign language at an early age.
A chance meeting in the grocery store sends their lives into a new direction.
"Edward," Rose smirked. "This is Bella. We work out together at Emmett's gym. And Bella, this is my brother, Edward."
I smiled, offered my hand. "Nice to meet you, Bella."
She smiled brightly and shook my hand as she replied, "Nice to meet you, too, Edward… I take it little Emma here's yours?"
"She is," I grinned, looking down at where Emma was watching us curiously.
That always tugged at me, to see her so curious about what she wasn't hearing.
Apparently Bella noticed as well, and when she spoke again, she signed at the same time. Once again shocking the hell out of me.
"She's an adorable little girl. Rose told me about her niece, but I'm afraid her words didn't do her justice," she smiled, winking at my girl.
Emma's face lit up like a Christmas tree, and it was for such a simple thing as being included.
"Thank you," I chuckled, still stunned.
"And Bella, you didn't tell me you could sign," Rose said.
"Guess it didn't come up," Bella shrugged. "But seriously, what do we talk about when we're on the treadmill, Rose?"
It was a pointed look that told me this was not for a brother's ears.
I was however disgustingly intrigued about Bella's part of those conversations.
"Alright, alright," Rose conceded with a chuckle. "So, how come you know then?" she asked curiously. And I had to say I was curious myself.
"My mother taught me," Bella replied softly. "She was born deaf," she added without signing.

Edward needs someone to look after Emma while he works. Bella is looking for a job. A match made in heaven, more than they ever know.
Bella is so good with little Emma.  Edward finds himself very attracted to her. He can't help but fall in love with her. Unfortunately Edward assumes Bella's not interested in him . Mistake after mistake ....will poor Edward get his act together before Bella walks away for good.
"Look, I know you have feelings for me, Edward, and after my recital, I'm sure you know I feel the same if not more, but I just… I'm done with this."
Fucking shit, this pain is unbelievably… painful.
"A part of me wish I could keep this little game going, but I can't. I can't deal with your mood changes anymore. It hurts me."
Uh… right… what?
"Um… mood changes?" I asked quietly, lifting my head to face her.
Still that blank expression.
She cocked an eyebrow at me then, silently asking me if I'm serious.
I am, because I have no fucking idea what she's talking about.

"It's a sign" is amazingly sweet story about about family, and the pitfalls of learning to open your heart and love again. CaroNo is a accomplished, skillful writer. I have enjoyed everything that I have had the pleasure of reading of Cara's . Read "It's a Sign" and leave CaroNo a review.

Can't Walk Away From Friday

Its time again for our can't walk away from fic rec...so sit back and check out this amazing story.

In 1918 Edward survives the Spanish Flu only to find his world forever altered. He goes on, playing piano in a speakeasy during Prohibition, struggling to find meaning in life. Meeting Dream Girl gives him hope. He gives her a new take on "life".

This weeks "Can't walk away" rec is a wonderful story I discovered  as a rec in a Facebook group. It's a period fic and that's what peaked my interest. Some of my all time favorite Fanfics are period fic. So I was excited to say the least to find this little gem. I'm thrilled to say this is a true can't walk away. Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. I was up all night reading this.
Deb starts the story back in 1918 just before the Spanish flu outbreak in Chicago. We get a brief glimpse into Edwards life before his world is turned upside down. Edward is father make it through the epidemic, but sadly his mother does not. Before she dies she secures a promise from Dr Calisle Cullen to look after Edward and to make sure he lives.  Edwards and his father are devastated by the loss of Elizabeth Masen. His family has crumbled part so he leaves for college. His father not being able to cope with his grief turns into lonely, bitter, drunken man and they lose touch over the years.
After college Edward secures a job at a speakeasy playing the piano.Every night he dreams of a faceless brunette beauty he calls his "Dream Girl". He satisfied with his life and isn't looking for a woman to fill any holes, unless of course dream girl were show up. When one day she does. A beautiful brunette catches his eye. Could this be his "Dream Girl?" Her face is more beautiful then anything he could have ever imagined.
Each day I waited on the bench in the late afternoon. Each day Dream Girl walked by and each day I got up to follow her. On the second day she glanced back with a shy smile before turning into the residential street where I presumed she lived. On the third day she shook her head and giggled as she walked by. On the fourth day she actually waited for me to catch up when I got stuck behind a delivery truck which backed up and blocked the sidewalk. I watched as she climbed the stairs of the grand house she lived in. I watched, furious with myself, as she glanced at me and sighed before disappearing behind the ornate front door.

Bella Swan has come to Chicago to visit her Aunt and to escaped her life in New York City. Her parents have set up an arranged marriage and she wants nothing to do with it. Bella wants to travel and experience all life has to offer just like her Aunt. She's not interested in falling in love, but fate has something different in mine for her. One day while out for a stroll she meets the devastatingly handsome Edward Masen. The two have a strong undeniable connection and fall in love very fast.

"What's happening? What is this?" She whispered in awe.
She felt it too. I moved to take off her hat but she beat me to it, removing it slowly and placing it on the porch swing. She took one step to close the distance between us and put her hands on my chest, her eyes looking up to me. I saw wonder and trust …I slid my hand along her neck and swept out the mahogany waves hidden in her collar. Then my hands were on her back, on her neck, in her hair. I bent to put my lips to hers and she sighed into our kiss and finally the kaleidoscope of my dreams was real, the pink lips, the brown eyes, the mahogany hair, she was there with me. Our lips moved together, sweetly, teasing, wanting so much more, knowing this wasn't the time but that there was a lifetime for more.

Just when these two are about to run away and travel the world together tragedy strikes.

My mind catalogued the scene in a detached sort of way, unable, at first, to comprehend the emotional impact. Bella's blue coat was darkened by blood, so much blood! Could there possibly be any left in her body? The truck's front tire pinned her legs to the ground and I knew they must be crushed. Her cloche was gone, thrown off by the impact and her hair spilled darkly, dark over more blood, blood bright red against the white of the snow.

Suddenly after not seeing him for over a decade Dr Cullen appears. Edward believes he's there to help, but suddenly Dr Cullen scoops up Bellas lifeless body and runs away with her.

"Stop! I know you hear me. Wait, for the love of God, Dr. Cullen – WAIT!" My voice was hoarse now, raw, and the cold air burned my throat. None of that mattered.
The car door was opened from the inside and Dr Cullen slid into the seat without looking back. I screamed as the car shot forward. Why wouldn't he wait? I ran after it, knowing it would have to slow before turning into the street. The car did slow, but barely, and with a final burst I threw myself at the back of it, meaning to grab hold. He wasn't going without me. He hadn't even said which hospital.

Where is Dr Cullen taking Bella? After dreaming about her for many years is Edwards dream girl gone for good? This story is quite a rollcoaster of emoitions and thats why I had such a hard time putting it down even for a minute.

Can't Walk Away From Friday

After several failed relationships, Bella Swan had never imagined that she would fall for hot-headed, bull riding, Edward Cullen. Will Edward be able to recognize his true feelings for Bella? Can Bella break this wild cowboy or will he never be tamed?

Not yet: 10 chapters in
Yeeeehaw ladies....Saddle up because this week we're riding out to meet a Bull Riding Edward. Complete with Stetson, Cowboys boots and chaps, what more could a girl ask for. With a Marlboro hanging out of his mouth, this dirty talking, bull riding Cowboy is about to steal Bella Swans heart and probably yours too. Neither are looking for love, but but they find it a the rodeo. Bella's visiting the Cody ,Wyoming to see her best friend Alice's boyfriend Jasper  in the calf roping competition at the rodeo. Alice has never gotten along with Jasper's rodeo teammate Edward. After seeing Edward in a very compromising position she warns Bella he nothing but trouble to stay away from him. When Bella and Edwards eyes connect from across the arena  for the first time neither of them could have known how much that one look would change their lives. Sneaking behind Alice's back the couple starting seeing each other. Neither are looking for romance and keep telling themselves over and over it's just a physical relationship. Will they realize it's love before it's to late............

It's funny how things can change in seconds, though. How you can be hotter than crack head's spoon one minute and scared shitless the next? Or how you can be as confused as a hooker is cheap and then all of a sudden you know in your heart exactly how you feel. I had watched Edward get thrown before, but this time something in me ignited when I watched it happen. The bull came down on its front legs, sending him through the air and landing on his front, causing him to slide through the dirt and nearly collide with the wall.

Alice and I both sucked in a breath as we watched him continue to slide, arms and face buried in the dirt.

"Oh my God," I said in a course whisper, waiting for him to get up and run out of the ring to the safety of the gates. He just laid there, though.

"He's not moving Bella," Alice gasped, looking at me with a worried expression.....................

Will Edward walk away this time or it to late? Will Bella ever get the courage to tell Alice she been seeing Edward behind her back?
