5 Writing Tips

Posture is important -choose a comfortable chair and make sure if you iuse a laptop,
have it at eye level – I build mine up
on top of several books and use a
separate keyboard.
(2)Get rid of the inner critic and just write – the writing improves
with later drafts.
(3) I plan my characters and use a mood
board with images from magazines to represent the main characters. I then write
a biography on each detailing eye & hair color, height, occupation etc. I
add finer details like hobbies and habits and keep all of this in a sectioned
folder.
(4) It is equally important to keep notes
on what happens in each successive chapter. I plan chapters in advance but
certain things change as I write, If I don’t keep notes I find I’ll constantly
keep glancing back and wasting time.
( 5) Discipline is important – set aside a
block of time each day solely for writing and try to stick to that. Lastly have
lots of fun with the process. I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t such fun.
