Less Known Fic...

A story about growing up, finding friendships that last a lifetime, and finding yourself up loves creek without a paddle.

No: 15 Chapters posted

Orphaned at the age 11 , Bella Swan was raised by her older brother Emmett. Being left alone most of time she had to learn to become a strong, independent, intelligent young woman. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA is her only hope to leave this dismal little town.
Edward Cullen is a pretentious, rich, man whoring, asshole. All the girl's want to be with him and all the guy's want to be him. Daddy Cullen's money has always gotten Edward anything and everything he's ever wanted, but at what price? His father has his whole future mapped out. Edward will  go to law school and make the Cullen family name even more prestigious . All Edward wants is to get out of his oppressive life and this dismal little town.
Bella Swan hates Edward Cullen! This is a fact that has been true since they have been little kids. They have one thing in common, the same best friend. Jasper Whitlock ,is always there to try diffuse the heated battles that go on between his two best friends.....
Jasper grabs Bella around the waist to hold her back. For such a small girl, holding her back from hurting Edward was hard work. Jasper was almost tempted to let her go just to see if she could bring Edward down. Something told Jasper Bella could give him the beat down of his life.

....but what lie's under all this hatred and hostility they share is raw UST. Oooo baby is the tension thick in this story, and so much fun to read.

Edward Cullen took that Strawberry ice pop from her, looked at Bella's body like it was a buffet he was dying to eat and then he took the ice cold, melting goodness and ran the tip of it from her ankle to the top of her thigh. It was so cold and felt so good on her heated skin. But then all she could do was watch in wonder as Edward, the boy she hated, the boy she wanted to mount and make her come until she saw stars, leaned down, his tongue coming out from behind those soft full lips and he licked the trail left behind by the sugary treat. From ankle to thigh........
The witty, snarky banter these to share is enough to make you laugh out loud. For a while they are clueless to the underlying feeling they share, but slowly they start to figure out there may be more between them then raw unadulterated hate. But, this doesn't fit into Daddy Cullen's plan for Edward. Believing Bella will only serve to derail all the hard work he's put into his son and protege . He decides to take matters into his own hand's. Daddy Cullen sets a plan in motion to take care of the problem once and for all. He invites a old family friend's daughter "Kat"over for the summer. Knowing that Edward and Kat share a past he hopes Edwards attentions will be on her instead of Bella. Angered because of his fathers manipulative ways Edward informs Kat that there can't be anything between them because he has a girlfriend. Kat always gets what she wants, and she wants Edward Cullen. No girlfriend will deter her. With Kat's entrance into the story what trouble awaits the already shaky relationship between Bella and Edward?

One thing was sure.. this was shaping up to be an interesting game. And Kat was nothing if not an enthusiastic player.

LondonGoth has promised us the full gamut with this story. Love, hate, humor ,angst . So far she has delivered just that. This "Less Known Fic" is sitting at a disheartening 63 reviews. This story is so well written, and I became engrossed into it immediately. It deserves so many more reviews. So settle down and read LondonGoth's "Up Love's Creek", it really is worth your time. Please leave her some love and  reviews.

Less Known Fic 7/21/11

Okay, kiddies. This week I bring to you a less know fic titled Glamour Shots by just robin. It is humor wrapped in fluffy romance and sure to entertain n, complete with a photoward!

Bella is a shy, lonely Kindergarten teacher who is dreaming of Mr. Right. Edward is a quirky photographer, not exactly a ladies' man. What will happen when Bella is talked into an internet dating site? Awkward meets Disaster, need I say more?

Edward groaned and rolled over, hitting a wall. It took him a moment to orient himself and discover he was not in his own bed. He didn't immediately recognize any of his surroundings and panic took him over. He glanced down, noticing he was clad only in his boxers and black socks. He also noticed he had a rather uncontrollable bulge in his shorts.

Where the hell am I, and what have I done? Edward thought. His attention was suddenly diverted when he heard the off key falsetto coming from the bathroom, accompanied by a symphony of water sounds from the shower.

"I'm every woman
It's all in me
I can read your thoughts right now
Every woman, whoever made ya say...
Whoa whoa whoa"

Panic and terror struck Edward as he scrambled to remember the night before. He remembered being heartbroken when Miss Isabella Swan walked away from him for the second time. He remembered his co-worker Jake taking pity on him and asking him to drown his sorrows at the local bar. He remembered drinking heavily with Jake, dancing and…Oh, goodness… Edward's head shot up toward the bathroom door and the sound emanating from behind it.

Edward hastened to the closet to confirm his fears. He flicked on the light, the horror confirmed, as his eyes met with a sea of neon and pastel colored clothing.
He had gone home with Jake. Edward guessed from his lack of dress, the disheveled bed he'd awoken in and the jubilant gay in the shower, that he'd had a homoerotic experience. He shivered at the thought, thankful he couldn't remember the details. If I don't remember, it didn't happen, Edward told himself.

"Mornin' sleepy head!" Jake was now standing in the bathroom doorway. He had a towel wrapped around his head like a turban, and another one wrapped around his chest much like a lady would wear. Edward was relieved that Jake had taken to covering as much of his naked form as possible. That was until his eyes glanced lower and noticed that Jake was peeking out of the bottom of his towel. Jake was tall and the towel was short.

"AHEM!" Jake cleared his throat. "Eyes up here, big boy." Edward couldn't have been anymore embarrassed if he tried. This had to be the low point of his life. Edward thought it was a bit hypocritical of Jake to call him out on wandering eyes. Jake's were doing a bit of drifting themselves, but Edward wasn't about to comment.
"S…sorry," Edward stuttered, wringing his hands in front of his crotch to prevent Jake's wandering eyes from further purveyance of Edward's still semi-erect cock.

"What happened last night?" Edward's face was full of trepidation as he questioned his rather herculean co-worker. Edward had never taken notice of Jake's rather well formed physic before. Oh, God…maybe I am gay!
Haha! I left you with a cliffy and it’s not even my fic! There is a baby, a broken condom, olive oil, pink Schwinn bicycles, and a Prius involved. Moreover, Alice is an idiot who loves to shop at Payless.  Can you say BOGO! If you are looking for a fic, chalked full of shenanigans, then Glamour Shots might be your cup of tea. Enjoy! Until next time…

Less Known Fic (7/6/2011)

Okay kiddies. Are you ready for another fantabulous review?  This week I am recommending author newlovenewhate and her newest fic, mouse [sic]. She recently finished Sleep Talk, which has over 1,500 reviews. Her writing prose is excellent, so much that I fell in love and added her as one of my favorite authors, a total of three.

  No:

Edward Cullen thinks Isabella Swan should grow a pair. Forever the asshole/Forever the victim. They collide, somehow.

The story mouse features an insecure, introverted Bella who is less than attractive in the eyes of one Edward Cullen, a.k.a the complete and total asshole; she is the doormat to his dirty boots. He is the epitome of an insensitive douche- the typical man-whore, narcissistic bully that you love to hate, yet you cannot stop reading in the hopes that he will possibly be redeemable.
I may or may not have a girl crush on newlovenewhate because she brings about a breath of fresh unique air that I am always scrounging around the fandom to find. Newlovenewhate's author notes at the end of each chapter makes absolutely no sense and leaves you wondering where she comes up with such rhyming and reason. It makes my attraction...err, I mean my admiration for her that much stronger.
Excerpt from Chapter One:

The emotion that evades me quite easily is that of sympathy.

And so as she bows her head for the umpteenth time of the day, I roll my eyes. Because before me lies a girl who has no real issues—just that exasperating dilemma of a huge lack in confidence.

The idea is that, a low self-esteem stems from former realities. Those often being; an abusive parent, a negligent childhood… a situation that somehow caused a tangible amount of trauma.

Maybe Isabella Swan got pissed on when she was little.

Her face is in constant brood mode. She's little and childlike, unsure of herself, and at our age it seemed all so unnecessary.

I wonder if this permanent state of pitiful will ever subside. For the ten years that I had known of her, Isabella had always been this weedy looking human—who in turn, had a personality to match.

When I was 11, I watched on in vague interest as she cried over being tripped up by Emmett McCarty. Emmett was a jerk, but that being said, he was a harmless one. Every time he took out some of his playfulness on her she would cry. It wasn't loud and attention grabbing, but it was evident.

Kids in our small town knew her to be a crier. She made herself an easy target.

In earlier times I had felt sorry for her, because it was always a messy sight to see a somewhat loner of a girl fend for herself against the taunting of her peers.

Especially when said-girl was weepy as Isabella.

In the end, my conclusion was that in a world full of people, Isabella was one of those who recessed to the back of the line by choice. The type of person that plays the victim because the thought of fighting back seemed too hard a feat.

Loser.
Uh huh. See what I mean? Asshole.
Keep in mind what I had stated in my last recommendation about reviews. Please do so at the end of each chapter. You are validating an author's efforts at providing you, the reader, with free entertainment. Enjoy! Until next time...

Less Known Fic (6/28/2011)

This weeks Less Known Fic is brought to you by our very own IllicitWriter herself.  So sit back, grab you a drink and get ready for this one!!! And I got to say I love the banner for this story!!!

Okay, Kiddies. This week I bring to you a less known fic called: Theories of Bellativity by Kikki7. There are presently eight chapters, all of which were a fantastic read. For those of you who love a good Doctorward, then this is the pick of the puppy litter.

kikki7

NO, 10 Chapters posted...

Bella Swan is a physician assistant student trying to survive a grueling clinical year. Add Dr. Edward Cullen, a cocky, irresistible ob/gyn resident. Throw in some chocolate, sprinkle with a few of Bella's quirky theories about life, and see what happens.

Do any of you readers fancy a good jackass? No, not a donkey people. I’m talking about Edward Cullen a.k.a Dr. ob/gyn jackass. Yes, he comes in all shapes and sizes, both charming and infuriating Bella to no end. The following excerpt is from chapter two. In this scene, Bella is a standing observer during a medical procedure in the operating room.

"Excuse me, Miss Swan?"
"Um…yes?" Fuck. I suddenly feel like a kid with her hand caught in the cookie jar. I even sound flustered. I inwardly smack myself on the side of my head.
"Do you need to use the bathroom?"
I stare at him dumbly. I blink. Several times I think. Words. He's expecting words. An answer. Brain kicks in and gives my mouth a shove. "No thank you, I'm fine."
He looks back down again. "Very good. Then could you please stop shifting around like a five-year-old that needs to pee? It's a bit distracting."
No, he didn't.
It just got infinitely hotter in here, and I can't tell if it's from embarrassment or indignation. I know the look on my face says it all because now he looks rather amused with himself.
Stupid, pretty green-eyed jackass.

What pulled me into this fic was the excellent writing prose of the author. She delivers character depth, intelligent medical jargon and my all-time favorite— humor. For those of you who know my tendency to flounce at the drop of a dime, Theories of Bellativity actually had me craving for more. Why, just the other day I was rocking back and forth in a corner. I needed a fix and I called my drug of choice chapter nine!
Last but not least, this is my favorite scene that comes from chapter three:

I rifle through my pocket and take out one of my last chocolates. Not wanting to be rude, I decide to be nice and offer him one. His eyes brighten, and he nods, so I hand him a Krackle bar.

He looks at it, and then looks at my dark chocolate. Nodding towards it, he asks,

"Do you have any more of those?"

"What, you don't want it? That's alright, I can take it back…" I say, extending my palm out.

"No, I didn't say that," he pulls his hand away protectively. "I'm just asking if you have any more dark chocolate."

I shake my head. "Nope. Sorry." I say with a shrug.

Clearly undeterred, he furrows his brow. "Really? You didn't even look."
I narrow my eyes at him. Unappreciative little shit. Who the hell does he think he is? "I think I know what is or isn't in my pocket. And I believe they say beggars can't be choosers."

He leans on the table toward me, and raises his eyebrows at me. "Wanna trade?"
I lean back, folding my arms across my chest. "Nope." I say, enunciating the P at the end, and quirk my eyebrow in challenge. "And even if I had more, you wouldn't be getting any."

His lips twitch, trying to hold back a smile. "That's not very nice," he retorts.

"Didn't your mother teach you that sharing is caring?"

I bite the inside of my lip, and feel my nostrils flare. Part of me wants to kick him in the shin and another part of me wants to straddle him and have my wicked way with him.

Stupid ovaries.

"My mother taught me lots of things. Including manners. And for the record, I do not give my dark chocolate to just anyone. And you don't deserve."
His face is a mask of mock indignation. "I'm not sure, but I think I may be offended."

"Oh, I think you can be sure."

That fuckhot lopsided grin makes its appearance again. "Well then, please enlighten me. How exactly does someone achieve deserving status in your book?"

"You have to earn dark chocolate status, Dr. Cullen. And at this point, you barely make Krackle status."

He tilts his head to the side and rubs his chin. "Oh really? So you're telling me there is a hierarchy in chocolate status? How exactly does that work, then?"

I consider it for a moment. "Well, Krackle is pretty much entry level. Mr. Goodbar would be the next level, then milk chocolate. You have to be pretty darn special to be worthy of dark chocolate status."

This is a public service announcement. *cue the obnoxious high-pitched tone* As an author, I understand the importance of reviewing. For most, it is not a means for popularity by way of numbers. It is chicken soup for the soul.
In my humble opinion, this is what a reader tells me when they review: “I appreciate your hard work. I am excited that you updated. I am letting you know that you did a great job with this chapter.” It takes less than fifteen seconds to hit the review button, jot a few words down and hit submit. This is your contribution to us, a payment if you will, for our services. Take fifteen seconds of your time to validate our story; it honestly makes us euphorically giddy. With that said, show this author that you are validating her time, efforts and hard work at providing you with an entertaining read. Enjoy!
